Government official dies after bomb placed under cot explodes in Andhra Pradesh

A Village Revenue Assistant (VRA) died after an explosive device placed under his cot exploded in Andhra Pradesh’s YSR Kadapa district. The accused have been detained by the police, but the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained.
The incident took place on Sunday night, when D Narasimhulu was sleeping in the courtyard of his house when the bomb with a detonator placed underneath his cot went off. Narasimhulu died on the spot while his wife was rushed to the hospital for treatment. She is said to be in critical condition.
The couple’s children were sleeping in another room and escaped unhurt. The incident sent the villagers into a state of frenzy. Senior police officials arrived at the spot following the incident and further investigation is underway.
