Snow moves through Twin Cities Wednesday, with cold temps to stay

MINNEAPOLIS — Light snow and flurries will move across Minnesota from west to east overnight Wednesday, with a dusting expected in the Twin Cities and 1-4 inches possible in the northwest corner of the state.
A winter weather advisory is in effect in that region from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 6 p.m. Wednesday due to the possibility of heavy snow and wind gusts of up to 45 mph.
Cities in the advisory area include Thief River Falls, Grand Forks, Fargo-Moorhead, Crookston, Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls.
The flurries that pass through the metro on Wednesday will only amount to less than a half inch, but it remains windy and cold with a high near 36.
It stays windy and cold on Thursday with a high of around 39, which is average.
Temperatures will hang around average into the weekend when the wind finally settles down.
There could be some light snow up north on Sunday, and light snow in the metro on Monday.
